The ideal candidate will have strong field leadership skills and technical writing abilities, with working knowledge of cultural resource regulations including Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance processes. This position offers the opportunity to lead archaeological field survey crews and take ownership of report writing from initial background research through final deliverables. Working under the direction of our Senior Archaeologist, you will serve as Field Lead for Phase I investigations ranging from small-scale surveys to large multi-crew operations, while developing your technical writing skills through comprehensive report preparation. The role provides hands-on leadership experience managing field teams of 1 to 10+ people and the chance to contribute your findings through detailed technical documentation for diverse clients across the Midwest and Great Lakes regions.
