About The Firm

Our client is a well-established accounting firm with a long history of serving nonprofit organizations. They combine the personal attention of a small practice with the technical depth of a larger firm, providing high-quality review and advisory services to mission-driven clients. The team values collaboration, precision, and balance—offering a supportive environment for professionals who want meaningful work without the grind of traditional public accounting.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a Preparer to join their Review Team, supporting nonprofit engagements. This position is ideal for someone with smaller-firm experience who enjoys hands-on audit and review work in a collaborative, flexible environment. The Preparer will work directly with experienced manager(s) and team members to deliver high-quality review and compilation engagements focused on nonprofit clients.

This role offers flexible scheduling and is perfect for an auditor who values meaningful work, professional balance, and a culture that prioritizes people over long hours.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and organize workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation using CCH ProSystem fx Engagement.

  • Apply firm methodology and best practices through Knowledge Coach templates and checklists.

  • Perform analytical procedures and assist in identifying accounting and reporting issues.

  • Collaborate with team members and managers to ensure timely, accurate completion of engagements.

  • Maintain compliance with professional standards and firm policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.

  • 4+ years of public accounting experience, ideally within a smaller firm.

  • Strong background in nonprofit accounting and financial statement preparation.

  • Experience with Knowledge Coach preferred.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Self-motivated, dependable, and comfortable in a remote, collaborative setting.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.

  • Full single health coverage

  • 401(k) match and employer-paid supplemental insurance plan (Aflac-style).

  • Flexible, remote schedule and a culture that values balance and professional respect.
