Job Description

Professional Land Surveyor (NY & NJ Licensed)

Brooklyn, NY | Hybrid / Flexible

A rapidly growing multidisciplinary consulting firm based in Brooklyn is seeking a Licensed Professional Land Surveyor (NY & NJ) to play a key role in the continued expansion of its surveying practice.

Founded less than a decade ago, this firm has already grown to 50+ professionals and continues to scale organically by hiring strong technical leaders who want to help shape the business – not just work within it. This is an opportunity for a driven, entrepreneurial surveyor to join at a pivotal stage of growth and directly influence the future of the practice.

The Opportunity

This role goes beyond day-to-day surveying. You will be trusted to own projects, guide technical standards, support business growth , and work closely with leadership as the firm continues to expand across New York and New Jersey.

The ideal candidate is someone who:

  • Enjoys autonomy and responsibility

  • Is motivated by growth and long-term upside

  • Wants to help build something, not just maintain it

Projects include:

  • Boundary and topographic surveys

  • ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys

  • Construction layout and as-built surveys

  • Development, infrastructure, and urban projects

  • Close collaboration with civil, structural, and geotechnical teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as Surveyor of Record for NY and NJ projects

  • Review, sign, and seal survey plans and deliverables

  • Lead survey projects from proposal through completion

  • Coordinate field crews, CAD staff, and external partners

  • Ensure compliance with NY/NJ regulations and professional standards

  • Mentor junior staff and help elevate the surveying group

  • Contribute to business development and client relationships as the firm grows

What We’re Looking For

  • Licensed Professional Land Surveyor in New York (required) and New Jersey

  • Strong experience with boundary, ALTA, and development-related surveys

  • Comfortable operating with autonomy in a growing organization

  • Strong communication skills and leadership mindset

  • Interest in long-term growth, responsibility, and career upside

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Join a firm that has scaled rapidly and sustainably in under 10 years

  • Be part of a 50+ person team with momentum and ambition

  • Real opportunity to influence the growth of the surveying practice

  • Flexible working arrangements with a Brooklyn-based office

  • Competitive compensation with long-term upside tied to growth and performance

If you are a NY/NJ licensed surveyor who is ambitious, growth-minded, and excited by the idea of helping build a practice within a fast-growing firm, this is a rare opportunity worth exploring.
