We are seeking a Locums Orthopedic Surgery Physician to provide 24-hour coverage at a hospital in Tacoma, WA. This long-term assignment offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment with a variety of orthopedic cases and patient populations.
Assignment Details:
Shift Type: 24-hour shifts
Duration: 6 – 9 months
EMR System: Epic
Patient Volume: Varies, 0 – 7 admissions/patients per day
Case Mix: Wide range of orthopedic procedures and trauma cases
Responsibilities:
Provide 24-hour orthopedic surgery coverage, including emergent and routine cases
Perform surgical interventions for various orthopedic conditions and trauma
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with orthopedic injuries or conditions
Coordinate care with ER physicians, hospitalists, and other specialists
Manage pre- and post-operative patient care
Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently in Epic EMR
Participate in admissions, discharges, and consultations as needed
Requirements:
Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Active Washington medical license or IMLC with LOQ – required
BLS Certification
DEA license
Prior experience managing a variety of orthopedic trauma and general cases preferred
