Epidemiologist I
Cedar Park Group is hiring an Epidemiologist I , an entry-level professional who will support public health surveillance, investigation, and disease control activities.
Schedule/Shift: 4 weeks to 6 months, with varying hours.
Position Overview:
Plans, develops, and conducts epidemiologic investigations, surveillance, and interventions that are limited in scope and/or complexity to determine the causes of diseases and implement methods of disease control. Collects, analyzes, and interprets statistical data and prepares epidemiologic reports.
Under general supervision, incumbents in this class conduct surveillance and analysis of communicable diseases, environmental epidemiology, toxicology, chronic diseases, or perinatal epidemiology. Employees at this level represent the entry point of the epidemiologist series and are able to work independently on small projects or as part of a project team.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Public Health in epidemiology, biostatistics, or a closely related field.
Knowledge of epidemiological design, data collection, data analysis, and information presentation.
Knowledge of standard descriptive statistical methods.
Ability to present information clearly in written and oral form.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Responsibilities:
Conduct epidemiologic investigations and surveillance activities under general supervision.
Collect, analyze, and interpret statistical and epidemiologic data.
Prepare epidemiologic reports, summaries, and written findings.
Assist in the development and implementation of disease control methods.
Participate independently on small-scale projects or collaboratively as part of a project team.
Support surveillance across communicable diseases, environmental health, toxicology, chronic disease, or perinatal epidemiology.
