Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop Engineer
Location: Austin, TX (4-5 days onsite required)
Duration: 12-18months

We are seeking an experienced  Citrix Engineer to help set up and configure  Citrix with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) . The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Citrix infrastructure, Azure integration, and core Windows Server and networking fundamentals.

Qualifications:

• 6+ years overall IT experience, with at least 2+ years hands-on with Citrix or Azure Virtual Desktop
• Proven experience setting up or managing Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (on-prem or cloud).
• Experience deploying or managing Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD).
• Strong understanding of Windows Server administration.
• Working knowledge of network fundamentals — routing, firewall rules, VPNs, DNS, etc.
• Experience with Citrix Cloud preferred.
• Ability to work independently and deliver within project timelines.

Preferred Certifications:

• Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization (CCA–V) or higher
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty (AZ-140)

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy, configure, and test Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops in an Azure Virtual Desktop environment.
• Set up and manage Citrix Cloud connectors and integration with Azure resources.
• Configure networking components, including firewall rules, subnets, and VPNs, to support secure connectivity.
• Work with Windows Server (Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, file shares, etc.).
• Troubleshoot user access, session performance, and connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with IT and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth implementation and handoff.
